本年度は1960年代における長野県下伊那地方を中心とする「学校と家庭の連絡」の歴史的展開について資料調査・収集活動、これに基づく研究発表を行い、研究を成果を学術雑誌に投稿し採択された。1960年代は、農村においても都市と同様に家庭教育に対する関心が高まったとされるが、農村家庭が家庭教育に関する情報にどのようにアクセスし、関心を高めていたのか、またこれらの情報を学校がどのように提供し、家庭との関係を構築していたのかはと先行研究において十分に明らかににされていない。本研究課題に迫るため、長野県下伊那地方において、退職教員により刊行された家庭教育雑誌『わが子の教育』を分析した。この結果、①『わが子の教育』は農村家庭における進学熱や家庭教育に対する関心の高まりをとらえつつ、これを「適切に」導くために、現職の学校教育の意見と農村家庭とを結び付けようとしていたこと、②一方で、学校は家庭が望む新しい教育方針や学習方法、家庭教育に関する情報を十分に伝えることができず、変動する地域社会にある家庭と切り結ぶ術を失いつつあったこと、③農村家庭の母親は『わが子の教育』に掲載される現職教員の意見をうのみにするのではなく、学校教育の理念と実践との乖離や矛盾を自覚しつつ、適切な家庭教育の在り方を学ぼうとする姿勢を有していたこと、が明らかにされた。本研究課題の遂行から、『わが子の教育』と同時期に発刊された他地域の家庭教育雑誌と比較検討しながら、地域社会の結節点としての役割を失いつつあったが学校はどのように家庭と結びつこうとしていたのか、さらに「学歴」に代わる新たな指標として学校側から示された「能力」や「個性」の開発・伸長を、家庭はどのように受けとめ、この課題に取り組もうとしていたのかを明らかにすることが、今後の研究課題として示された。
This historical studies demonstrated how a new direction of home education was explored in the rural area by analysing an educational magazine "Education For My Child", published by a retired teacher from Shimoina District, Nagano Prefecture. The following result of analysis will be published as an academic paper.
One of the features of this magazine is the presentaion of appropriate and required directions in the preparation for admissions of high school and university on the basis of real-life conditions in a local society. This magazine comprises articles written by teachers elucidate the new education policy, introduce parents to new subjects and provide guidance on parental role in home education. The need for such articles exhibits that there prevailed some miscommunication between school and home regards to the abovementioned aspects.
Letters from readers, mainly written by motheres, reveals the exisitence of mothers who tried to seek 'appropriate home education' in their turbulant period, used this magazine as their textbook.
Thus, Education For My Child improves the communication between schools and parents involved in home education, elucidates the new education policy and introduces new subjects to parents by asuuming the role of a textbook used by parents in the rural area.
