住民がその土地で生活することで作り出している「生活景」を、地域のアイデンティティの拠り所として、また地域資源として発見し、言語化・可視化・評価する手法を確立し、その共有方法を明らかにすることが本研究のテーマであった。2020年度は3年計画の2年目として、地域住民との協同による景観フィールドガイドの制作を通して、地域の景観要素を言語化し共有する実践を新潟県十日町市、京都府宇治市で行った。
十日町では地区の民家の庭を実測し、写真や樹種の記載とともに紹介するフィールドガイドを作成し、住民と地区を巡るワークショップを行った。その成果をもとに、地区のサインを住民とともにデザインし、駅前に設置した。
宇治では、アーバンデザインセンターの活動に合わせ、東京大学都市デザイン研究室との共同研究として「中宇治」と呼ばれる宇治の旧市街を調査し、市街地に散在する空地や緑地、水路などの資源を地図化して、生活景を味わうためのルート地図や駐車場に仮設するコミュニティガーデンのデザインを提案、「中宇治地域まちづくりコンセプトブック１」という冊子にまとめた。
神山は、新型コロナウイルス感染症対策として、特に調査先の農家に高齢の住民が多いことなどから、2020年度は現地に滞在して行うフィールドワークを断念したが、電話や手紙、メール、リモート会議などの媒体を用いてインタビュー調査を行い、その成果を風景図鑑という冊子にまとめた。神山の成果は日本生活学会で6月に学術発表を行う。
This research aimed to establish a method for discovering, verbalizing, visualizing, and evaluating the "living scene" created by residents living in the area as a base for local identity and as a local resource, and clarifying the sharing method. In 2020, as the second year of the three-year plan, through the production of a landscape field guide in collaboration with residents, verbalizing and sharing the region's landscape elements was carried out in Tokamachi City Niigata Prefecture, and Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture.
In Tokamachi, we measured the garden of a private house in the area, created a field guide to introduce it with photographs and a description of tree species, and held a workshop with residents and the area. Based on the results, we designed the district sign together with the residents and installed it in front of the station.
In Uji, in line with the activities of the Urban Design Center, we will investigate the old city of Uji called "Naka ​​Uji" as joint research with the University of Tokyo Urban Design Laboratory, and map resources such as open spaces, green areas, and waterways scattered in the city. We proposed a route map to enjoy the scenery of life and a community garden design to be temporarily installed in the parking lot and summarized it in a booklet called "Naka ​​Uji Area Town Development Concept Book 1".
For Kamiyama, we abandoned the fieldwork to stay in 2020 as a countermeasure against the new coronavirus infection, mainly because there are many elderly residents in the farms surveyed. However, We conducted an interview survey using media such as telephone, letter, email, and remote conference. We summarized the results in a booklet. Kamiyama's achievements will be presented at the Japanese Society of Life Sciences in June.
