COVID-19のやむを得ない状況により、インドへの現地訪問は不可能でした。そのため、2つの具体的な活動を行いました。
1. Surakshitアプリのオンラインディスカッションと拡張
SURAKSHITは、大規模な災害後も存続し、被災したコミュニティを災害管理者や外部に接続し継続的なコミュニケーションを保証するエンドツーエンドのシステムを提供します。提案されたシステムは、危機関連情報を利害関係者間で最大限の利便性で交換することを保証し追加インフラストラクチャへの最小限の投資で代替の通信インフラストラクチャを提供するように設計されています。バイプロダクトは、危機的状況と資源（人的・物的）の需要と供給の一貫した見解をユーザーにとって使いやすい視覚的形式で提供し、マイニングを通じて権限レベルとソースの匿名性を維持したままシステムに存在する危機情報を自動的に集約します。具体的な情報はNDRFから提供され、それがシステムの改訂や修正に活用されました。
2. ソーシャルイノベーションオンラインハッカソン
オンラインハッカソンは、パンデミックや将来の災害問題に取り組み、社会の回復力と持続可能性を高めるための独自ソリューションを見つけるために、イノベーター、ミッション主導の起業家、専門家、開発者を団結させるために組織されました。ハッカソンには、SDGs（持続可能な開発目標）に関連する6つのテーマが選ばれています。これらは、飢餓ゼロ（SDG 2）、健康と福祉（SDG 3）、ジェンダー（SDG 5）、きれいな水と衛生（SDG 6）、安全な都市とコミュニティ（SDG 11）、気候変動対策（SDG 13）です。テーマは、参加者が特定の問題を探すために自分の考えを調整するのに役立つように選択されます。5つの大学（慶應義塾大学と4つのインドの大学）から46人の学生がプログラムに参加し、6つの最終的なアイデアが選ばれました。主な貢献は、新たな社会問題を解決するために学生のイノベーションの可能性を高めることでした。
Due to the unavoidable conditions of COVID-19, field visit was not possible to India. Thus, two specific activities were conducted:
1. Online discussion and enhancement of the Surakshit app: SURAKSHIT presents an end-to-end system that may ensure a persistent communication that may survive even after a large-scale disaster and would connect the affected community to the disaster managers, and the outside world as a whole. Using the proposed system developed by NIT Durgapur, online discussion was made on its use with National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) of Government of India. The proposed system is designed to provide an alternative communication infrastructure with minimum possible investment towards the additional infrastructure that would survive even after a large-scale disaster, would ensure exchanging crisis-related information among the stake-holders at their maximum convenience, and as a bi-product, would provide the stakeholders with a consistent view of the crisis situation and resource (human or material) demand and supply in an user convenient visual form maintaining their level of authority through mining and aggregating automatically the crisis information present in the system preserving the source anonymity. Specific input were provided from NDRF, which has been utilized during the revised version and modification of the system.
2. Social innovation online hackathon: An online hackathon was organized to unite innovators, mission-driven entrepreneurs, experts, and developers in finding unique solutions for tackling the issues of pandemic and future disasters to make the society resilient and sustainable. Six themes are chosen for the hackathon, linked to SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). These are zero hunger (SDG 2), health and well-being (SDG 3), gender (SDG 5), clean water and sanitation (SDG 6), safe cities and communities (SDG 11), climate action (SDG 13). The themes are chosen to help participant aligning their thoughts to look for specific problems. 46 students from five universities (Keio University and four Indian universities) joined the program, and six final ideas were selected. The key contribution was to enhance the student's innovation potentials to solve emerging social problems.
