《研究目的》精神障がい者の地域生活支援が推し進められるなか、看護学生の実習の場も精神科病院だけでなく地域の福祉施設等の事業所で展開されるようになってきた。本研究の目的は、地域の事業所を利用している精神障がい者にとって、看護実習生との関わりがどのような経験になっているのかを明らかにすることである。5つの事業所に通所する18名の精神障がい者を研究対象として、半構成的インタビューによるデータ収集を行った。インタビュー内容は同意を得た上でICレコーダーに録音し、逐語録に記述したテクストを分析データとして質的に分析した。《結果・考察》地域の事業所を利用する精神障がい者は、見知らぬ学生との 【出会いと別れの困難さ】を抱くことや【看護実習という枠組みの限界】を感じつつも、若い学生との会話は通常とは異なる【楽しみや刺激を得る機会】となっていた。また学生から【大切に扱われる嬉しさ】を感じ、自らの病気の体験を【学生の反応を見ながら自己開示】をしていた。そして自らの体験を学生に役立ててもらい【看護学生の学びに貢献したい】という思いを抱いていた。これら結果から、学生が精神障がい者との関係づくりをすすめるためのスキルを磨くことや、地域事業所での実習が看護学生にとってどのような学びとなったのかを利用者たちに具体的に伝えることが重要であることが示された。
Purpose: As community-based support for individuals diagnosed with mental illness has risen, practical training for nursing students has been implemented, not only at psychiatric institutions but also within community-based welfare agencies. The purpose of this study was to clarify interactions between individuals with mental illness and nursing students at community-based welfare agencies. Method: Using a qualitative semi-structured interview, data were collected from 18 participants diagnosed with a mental illness from 5 community-based welfare agencies. Results: Participants reported having difficulty meeting and interacting with unfamiliar nursing students and identified limitations in the ability to interact under the framework of practical training. Additionally, conversation with young students was reported as an opportunity to enjoy themselves, and participants were grateful for the student's polite and respectful attitudes in conversation. Participants self-disclosed while watching the reactions of the nursing students, and in doing so, they hoped to contribute to their learning. Conclusion: The results suggest that it is important to encourage students to improve their communication skills, as it will enhance relationships with individuals with mental illness, and help them talk about their learning during their practical training at community-based agencies.
