本研究では、他の実験等から認知能力、性格等の個人の属性のデータが得られている大阪大学の大学生をできる限り同じ個人を毎年追跡して、実際に意思決定の結果に応じて謝金を支払う信頼ゲーム、独裁者ゲーム、公共財ゲームのオンライン実験によって信頼、利他性、応報性を測定する。この実験はOECDのTrustlab プロジェクト で開発された国際比較可能なプラットフォームを日本で用いて実施された。2022年度は本プロジェクトで大阪大学の522人の学生を対象に第1回調査を実施した。またほぼ同時期に本プロジェクトの研究代表者と分担者を含む研究グループの別のプロジェクトで慶應義塾大学パネルデータ設計・解析センターの日本の代表的サンプルを対象としたパネルデータの参加者に招待状を送ってTrustlabプラットフォームによるオンライン実験を実施した（以下、このサンプルには招待状を受け取って参加するセレクションがあるのだが簡潔に「代表的サンプル」と表記する）。さらにほぼ同時期に本プロジェクトの研究代表者と分担者を含む研究グループのもうひとつの別のプロジェクトで共同体メカニズムの専門家という意味のあるグローバル共和国（以下、GR）という音声SNS上で2021年4月に生成し2022年12月現在でメンバーが1万人以上となり活動がNHKの情報番組で取り上げられるなど急速に発展している広義のNPOの核となるメンバーのうちの193人の参加を得て同じプラットフォームで実施した。経済実験は大学生を対象とすることが標準となっているが、ターゲット母集団を変える研究では代表的サンプルや専門家サンプルと大学生サンプルとの比較が重要と考えられるための選択である。信頼、利他性、応報性について大学生サンプルの分布は、代表的サンプルおよびGRサンプルの分布と有意な違いがあった。大学生の方が信頼も利他性もともにこれらのサンプルよりも低い傾向があった。
In this study, we measure trust, altruism, and reciprocity through online experiments of the Trust Game, the Dictator Game, and the Public Goods Game, in which the same individuals are followed annually as much as possible by university students at Osaka University for whom data on individual attributes such as cognitive ability and personality are available from other experiments, etc., and who are actually paid rewards according to the results of their decisions. The experiments in this project are conducted by the Trustlab platform developed by the OECD, which yields internationally comparable results. In FY2022 the first experimental study was conducted with 522 students at Osaka University under this project. At about the same time, another project of the research group including this project's principal investigator and the co-investigator conducted an online experimental study with the Trustlab platform by sending invitations to participants in a representative sample of Japanese panel data at Keio University's Center for Panel Data Design and Analysis (Hereafter, we will refer to this sample as the "representative sample" for brevity, although there is a selection of participants who received invitations and decided to participate in this study.) At about the same time, another project of the research group including the project's principal investigator and co-investigator was used the same platform to conduct an experimental study with core members of the Global Republic (GR). The GR was launched in April 2021, and as of December 2022, it has more than 10,000 members, and its activities have been featured in an NHK information program. The core member of the GR can be thought of as experts of the community mechanism. It is standard practice for economic experiments to be conducted with university students, and it is considered important to compare results from student samples with those from a representative sample and a sample of experts. Each of the distributions of the university student sample for trust, altruism, and reciprocity was significantly different from its counterpart of the representative sample and that of the GR sample. Trust, altruism, and reciprocity tended to be lower in the university students than in these samples.
