本研究では若齢期の食および運動習慣が成熟期の骨格筋・肝臓・脂肪組織の遺伝子発現に及ぼすレガシー(遺産, 長期的)効果について, マウスを用いた検討を行った。本研究の結果から, 若齢期の高脂肪食摂取や自発走運動の経験は, たとえ成熟期に同様の食・生活環境および体重であっても, 骨格筋・肝臓・脂肪組織の遺伝子発現にレガシー効果を生じる可能性が示唆された。また一部の遺伝子発現においては, 自発走運動経験によるレガシー効果にプロモーター領域のDNAメチル化によるエピジェネティックな機序が関与している可能性が示唆された。
The purpose of this study was to examine the legacy effect of food intake and exercise in childhood on the gene expression profiles of skeletal muscle, liver, and fat tissue in adulthood by using mice.
Our results suggested that the high fat diet and exercise in childhood might produce the legacy effect on the gene expression profiles of skeletal muscle, liver, and fat tissue in Adulthood even though the mice have almost same body weight and life style. And some of the gene expressions in adulthood also have the epigenetics changes produced by DNA methylation on the promoter regions after exercise in childhood.
