| Abstract |
シェーグレン症候群 (Sjogren’s syndrome; SS) は、慢性唾液腺炎、涙腺炎を主徴とする臓器特異的自己免疫疾患である。標的臓器の導管、腺房周囲には自己反応性CD4+ T細胞の著しいリンパ 球浸潤が認められ、腺房の破壊や萎縮により乾燥症状が引き起こされるが、その発症機序は不明である。本研究は、SSと非常に類似した病態を呈する新規モデルマウス (RORγtトランスジェニック (Tg) マウス) を用いてSSの発症機序を解明するものである。
Sjogren's syndrome (SS) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by infiltration of lymphocytes into lacrimal and salivary glands, and clinically by dry eyes and dry mouth. Immunohistochemical studies have shown that most infiltrating lymphocytes in the labial salivary and lachrymal glands are CD4+ αβ T cells. In this study, we used the RORγt transgenic (Tg) mice, in which transgene expression was driven by hCD2 promoter and spontaneously developed sialadenitis like SS, in order to clarify the pathogenesis of sialadenitis.
