1950年代から70年代にかけての音楽 (ジャズ、実験音楽など)、前衛映画、パフォーマンスアートなどを横断するアメリカ文化における東洋思想や日本文化の影響などについて研究を進め、国際学会4回を含む学会発表を6回行い、書籍化を念頭に置いた学術論文の連載を筑摩書房のウェブサイトにて続けている。また共著を含む関連書を4冊刊行した。さらに1974年にチベット仏教思想に基づいて設立されたコロラド州デンバーのナロパ大学を訪れ、当地で資料収集を行うと同時に、ジョン・ケージやアレン・ギンズバーグなどの文化人がプログラム運営に関わる経緯などについて学長にインタビューを試みた。
The research topic was on the Buddhist influence on American music, avant-garde film and perfomance art from 1950 to 1979. I have delivered six presentations on this topic during three years of research, three times in the US and once in Germany. I have also wrote a series of academic essays on the website of a major Japanese publishing company, which will be published as a book when the serial ends. I have also visited Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, where a Tibetan Buddist priest founded the institution in 1974. Many cultural figures--John Cage and Allen Ginsburg, etc-- were involved in the program, and I had the opportunity to interview the president and talk about how the institution and the programs were founded.
