近世フランス文化の一大拠点として名を馳せたポール＝ロワイヤル修道院の足跡をたどるべく、ラシーヌの絶筆『ポール＝ロワイヤル史概要』の翻訳と注解を作成する作業に従事した。成果はおもに次の三点である。
第一は、テクストの確定である。二部構成の『ポール＝ロワイヤル史概要』には、自筆原稿、複数の写本、死後出版の刊行本など、さまざまなテクストが存在し、未完に終わった第二部には、種々の異文や執筆ノート類も残されている。本研究では、これらの文書の比較照合を通して、第一部については一七四二年の初版本を、第二部については自筆原稿を底本とし、写本および第二部初版（一七六七年版）との異同を注記するのが最良の方法であるという結論を得た。
第二は、修道院の史料編纂事業について新たな知見が得られたことである。十八世紀初頭、ポール＝ロワイヤルは王権の命で破壊されるが、賛同者たちはその記憶受け継ぎ戦略的に利用すべく、関連する歴史書や資料集を相次いで刊行した。ラシーヌの作品もその一つである。つまり、ポール＝ロワイヤルの理解のためには、それがもっとも輝きを放った十七世紀だけでなく、それが失われたあとの十八世紀の「ジャンセニスト」の動向にも目を向けることが必要なのである。
第三は、『ポール＝ロワイヤル史概要』のテクストのほぼ全体について、翻訳と註解を作成した点である。ラシーヌの仕事ぶりを示す種々の異文も邦訳したが、他方で、訳出を予定していた未完部分の執筆ノートについては、その典拠と目される手稿資料（パリのポール＝ロワイヤル図書館所蔵）へのアクセスがかなわず、注釈を付すことができずにいる。二年計画の一年目であり、研究成果の公表には至っていない。
In order to trace the footsteps of the Monastery of Port-Royal, a major cultural center in the early modern France, I worked on the translation and annotation of Racine's last work: Agrégé de l'histoire de Port-Royal. The main results were threefold.
First, the text was defined. The two-part Abrégé de l'histoire de Port-Royal contains a variety of texts, including autograph manuscripts, several manuscript copies and posthumously published books. Besides, the unfinished second part contains various variant texts and writing notes. Through comparison and collation of these documents, this study has concluded that the best method is to use the first edition of 1742 for Part I and the autograph manuscript for Part II, and to note any differences with the manuscript and the first edition of Part II (1767).
Second, were gained new insights into the Monastery's historiographical project. At the beginning of the 18th century, Port-Royal was destroyed by order of Louis XVI, but its supporters published a series of related historiography and archives in order to inherit its memory and make strategic use of it. Racine's work is one such example. In other words, to understand a history of Port-Royal, it is necessary to look not only at the 17th century, when it was at its most brilliant, but also at the activities of the 'Jansenists' in the 18th century after it was lost.
The third is that translations and notes have been given for almost the entire text of the Abrégé. Various variants that describe Racine at work have also been translated into Japanese, but his notes for the unfinished part have not been annotated because we have not been able to access the manuscript material (in the Port-Royal Library, Paris) that was supposed to be their source. This is the first year of a two-year project and the research results have not yet been published.
