以下に挙げる項目を、各分野に精通した共同研究メンバー各人が分担して研究を行った。
［イスラーム基礎研究］
①ハラールとハラーム及び関連する諸概念について、また②マイノリティとしてのムスリムの宗教実践について、啓示を含めた文献調査による整理、考察。
［イスラーム地域研究］
SFC研究所に設置された「イスラーム研究・ ラボ」、および学部の野中葉研究会「ムスリム共生プロジェクト」の研究活動と連動し、①日本人ムスリムと外国人ムスリム双方を対象に、日本在住ムスリムのネットワーク調査、彼らの課題抽出。②羽田、成田空港でのフィールドワークなどを通じた外国人ムスリム観光客の実態調査。③「ハラール」対応も含め、日本の観光業、レストラン業における受け入れ態勢の調査。主に神奈川と東京の店舗に関する調査、などを実施した。
このほか、ムスリム・ノンムスリム双方を招いてラマダーンやイスラームについて学び交流する「ラマダーン・ナイト」（5月31日）、日本在住のムスリム留学生に研究成果の発表の場を提供するシンポジウム（2019年7月21 日）を実施し、日本在住のムスリムとのネットワークを築き、彼らの日常生活に関する情報収集を行い、また活動を通じて収集した情報や知見を研究データとして蓄積した。また、イオンモール成田に声をかけていただき、同モールにて実施された「ワールドフードフェス」にて、イスラームおよびハラールに関するポスターを作成して、これまでの研究成果を発表した（9月21日～23日）。SFC のORF（11 月22 日、23 日）では、ポスター発表およびpitch（口頭発表）の機会を得て、これまでの調査実績を基に成果を発表した。さらに神奈川県内の通訳案内士向けムスリムセミナー（2020年1月31 日）では、研究代表者の野中葉と分担者の兼定愛が登壇し、ハラールビジネスやムスリム観光客の現状について講演を行った。
Each of the joint research members who are familiar with each field conducted study on the topics listed below.
[Basic research in Islam]
Examine the literature researches about 1) the Halal and Haram and related concepts, and 2) the religious practices of Muslims as minorities.
[Islam area study]
This research activity is linked to the activities of the Laboratory of Islamic studies at Keio Research Institute at SFC, and "Muslim Symbiosis Project" of Nonaka Seminar set in Faculty of Policy Management and Faculty of Environmental Information Studies. The following are main research activities we held related to our research this year.
1) Survey on Japanese and foreign Muslims living in Japan and their network, and to find their challenges. 2) Survey on foreign Muslim tourists based on the fieldworks we held in some places where tourists gather including Haneda and Narita International Airports. 3) Survey on restaurants and hotels which try to offer their services to muslim tourists in Kanagawa and Tokyo area.
Besides those surveys above, we also held some events, such as Ramadhan Night where muslims and non-muslims get together to talk about Ramadhan and Islam (May 31, 2019), the symposium which provides a chance to present research results to Muslim foreign students living in Japan (July 21), and the Muslim Hospitality Workshop for tourist guides in Kanagawa Prefecture (Jam 31, 2020). In addition, at "World Food Festival" in Aeon Mall Narita we gave a poster presentation about Islam and Halal (Sep 21-23, 2019), and at SFC ORF (November 22 and 23) we also gave a poster presentation and the pitch (oral presentation).
