3年計画の初年度にあたる2019年度は、すでに研究協力の承認が得られていた2施設において、状態の悪い子どもの両親にPICUの医療者が関わる場面の観察と、インタビューによるデータ収集を中心に研究をすすめた。収集したデータは随時分析を行い、結果をその後のデータ収集に還元するというグラウンデッド・セオリー・アプローチに沿った形で、データ収集と分析を並行してすすめた。また、別の1施設において、当該研究の実施について交渉を行い、施設の倫理審査承認を受けた。新型コロナウィルス感染症流行の影響もあるため、2020年度にデータ収集を開始できるように調整を行っている。
研究成果については、本研究の前身となった2つの研究の成果を論文として発表した。1つ目は、PICUにおけるPICU入院児の両親の体験に関する質的研究の結果を、2018年度に公表済の3つの論文に続く4つ目の論文としてまとめ、「PICUに子どもが入室した両親の担った役割：第4報　子どもの頑張りを支える」として4月に公表した。2つ目は、PICU入院児の両親の心理的状態に関する質問紙調査の結果をまとめ、「小児集中治療室入院児の両親の不安・抑うつ・PTSDの実態と経時的変化」という論文として投稿した。3月末に公開予定である。これらの研究結果も踏まえて、より発展的な成果へとつながるように、次年度も当該研究のデータ収集と分析をすすめる予定である。
This was the first year of this project. We collected observational data of medical consultations in two children's hospitals and then interviewed the medical staff and the parents who attended the consultations. Based on grounded theory approach, once we collected data, we analyzed it and develop the results. We then move to the next round of data collection. We also negotiated with another hospital and applied to its ethics committee for approval. We are preparing to start our research there in the coming school year.
Concerning the results of the study, we published two articles based on the study which preceded this project. One of them was "What roles parents took while their children stayed in Pediatric Intensive Care Units: the 4th report" which was published in April, 2019. The other article, based on the results of a quantitative research project of all Japanese Pediatric Intensive Care Units, was entitled "Anxiety, Depression, and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, and Changes in Them Over Time in Parents with Children in Pediatric Intensive Care Units." It has been accepted and will be published at the end of this month (March, 2020). We are planning to continue this study next year based on the findings in these articles and the result of the studies conducted this past year.
