本研究プロジェクトの目的は、国家権力が生活者を統合する際に、中央および地方各行政レベルの政治権力にいかなる力学が働くのかを、中国における労働者の統合をケースに解明することにある。本研究目的の達成において、2019年度は以下の成果をあげた。
第一に、2018年度に引き続き、工会による労働者統合のあり方をめぐり1950〜60年代および1980年代に中央および浙江省各行政レベルにおいて展開された政治過程に関し、著書（『中国の労働者組織と国民統合』）に推敲を重ね、2020年度に文部科学省科学研究費研究成果公開促進費の助成を受け、慶應義塾大学出版会より出版できる段階にたどり着いた。
第二に、安徽省蕪湖市の各級工会や工廠レベルの労働者幹部に関する民間資料について、2018年度に復旦大学社会生活資料センターにて収集した資料を整理し、1950年代後半期の県レベル以下の実態分析に着手した。また、2019年5月には、香港・中文大学で開催された民間資料を用いた研究交流ワークショップ"Grassroots Historical Documents from 1949-1979"に参加し、「1950年代黨對民眾生活的管理和基層幹部的作用」と題する報告を行った。
第三に、中国における国家権力と生活空間の相互作用および重層的権力構造の中で地方幹部が果たす機能について、現習近平政権下の状況を視野に入れた分析を行い、それを「習近平政権下の政治―集権化とその意味―」と題する論文にまとめ、『フィナンシャル・レビュー』令和元年第3号（通巻第138号）に発表した。
第四に、同テーマに対する歴史的視点と社会科学の概念の融合について考察するべく、朱安新（南京大学准教授）とともに翟学偉の著作を翻訳し、『現代中国の社会と行動原理』という題で岩波書店より出版した。
2019年度は、中国における邦人研究者の拘束事件や新型コロナウィルスの世界的感染拡大の影響を受け、当初予定していた中国ないしオーストラリアでの資料収集は断念せざるを得なかったが、2018年度に収集した資料に基づく研究および分析枠組みの精緻化に取り組んだ。
The goal of this research project is to examine what kinds of political dynamics work between the central and local governments in the process of unification of the people by analyzing the case of the Chinese party-state's unification of workers. In 2019 academic year, the project made progress in the following respects.
First, I revised my book manuscript titled: The Labors' Unions and the Unification of the People in China, which analyzes the political process around the unification of workers at the central party-state level and the different administrative levels in Zhejiang province in the 1950-60s and in the 1980s. The book succeeded in getting the approval to be published by Keio University Press by using Grants-in-Aid for scientific research (kakenhi) in the 2020 academic year.
Second, I organized the archives of trade union organizations at different administrative levels and worker cadres in Wuhu-city, Anhui province, which I had collected at the Institute for Humanities and Social Science Data, Fudan University before and during the 2018 academic year. As to the analytical framework and tentative analyses on the political roles of the county-level and basic-level cadres in the 1950s, I made a presentation titled: The Roles of Basic-level Cadres in the Management of the People's Daly Life in the 1950s, at the workshop "Grassroots Historical Documents from 1949-1979" which was held at the Centre for China Studies, the Chinese University of Hong Kong on 18th May, 2019.
Third, regarding the interactions of the party-state power and the people's living space as well as the political functions of local cadres under Xi Jinping administration, I published the paper titled: Politics under the Xi Jinping Government―Centralization of Power and Its Implications―, on Financial Review no. 138 issued in August, 2019.
Fourth, I published a cotranslational book titled: Society and Behavioral Principles in Contemporary China (authored by Di Xuewei, translated with Zhu Anxin) by Iwanami Shoten Publishers. The book implicates the effective ways how we should analyze Chinese politics and society by combining historical viewpoints and key concepts of social science.
During the 2019 academic year, I had to abandon planned research trips to China and Australia because of Chinese Government's detention of a Japanese professor in September, 2019 and of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus since the end of 2019. In spite of these adverse circumstances, I advanced the project by doing diligent analyses of the archives which I had preciously collected and elaborating the analytical framework.
