薬学部では、低学年における実験実習で実験技能・態度の基盤およびそのために必要な基本的知識を身につけることが重要である。本研究では、薬学生が身につけるべき実験技能の基盤を明らかとし、薬学を先導する人材の基盤形成につながる基礎実習プログラムを構築することを目的とした。
薬学部1年秋学期「薬学基礎実習」は、多くの実習・研究で用いる基本操作となる分析系および生物系の内容を学ぶ科目であり、2018年度より分野に限らず卒業研究まで継続して求められる知識、態度として4つのテーマ「実験安全」「機器・器具の正しい取り扱い」「試薬の適切な取り扱い」「データの適切な取り扱い」を設定し、ジグソー法による学習を導入した。その学習効果について2018年度のグループ報告書・個人レポートへの記述から確認した結果、ジグソー法導入により、学生同士で情報を共有し気づきを生み出すことが分かった。また、予習復習の大切さ、整理整頓や安全を重視する姿勢など、初年次の基礎系実習が上位学年の実習に大きく繋がっていくことを学生が実感していることを確認できた。
ジグソー法では、個人レベルでの学習、同じテーマを担当する学生同士のエキスパート活動の後、異なるテーマを学んだ者同士でのジグソー活動を行うが、エキスパート活動では互いに依存せずに活動している学生が多く、積極性を生み出す効果があった。2018年度は実習期間の最後にジグソー法を行い、2019年度は実習期間の中間時期に実施したが、いずれもこのプログラムに対する肯定的な感想が多く、ジグソー法が実験実習において効果的な教育ツールであると考えた。今後、さらに深くレポートの記述内容を考察するとともに、初年次にジグソー法で学んだ経験が上位学年への学びにつながっているかを検証する必要がある。その上で、実験実習を通して、研究室配属まであるいは卒業時までに身につけるべき実験技能をアウトカムとして設定し、実習項目、方略の最適化を行っていく。
It is important for the Faculty of Pharmacy to acquire experimental skills and attitudes in experimental training in lower grades. This study aimed to construct a basic training program for the first year students using the jigsaw method. "Basic Practice for Pharmaceutical Sciences" is a subject that teaches the contents of analytical chemistry or biology, and students learn the basic operations used in many practical training / research. We set four themes, "experimental safety", "correct handling of equipments", "proper handling of reagents", and "proper handling of data", and introduced learning by the jigsaw method. From the description in the report written by students, it was found that the introduction of the jigsaw method allows students to share information and be aware of it. And many students realized that the basic training in the first year was greatly connected to the training in the upper grades.
From these results, out trial using the jigsaw method gave the first year students positive impressions about this program, and it is revealed that the method is an effective educational tool in experimental subjects. It is necessary to examine the description content of the report more deeply and verify whether the experience learned by the jigsaw method in the first year leads to the learning in the upper grades. In the future, we will optimize practical training items and strategies in the Faculty of Pharmacy.
