本研究は2017年度に申請した同タイトルの研究の継続である。2017年から、毎年3月に約3週間キューバに滞在し、キューバに伝わるアフリカ系宗教であるサンテリーアの儀礼太鼓奏者に聞き取り調査を実施してきた。調査の主な関心は、キューバ革命前の細民街に暮らす民衆の生活史と、革命後の文化・宗教政策による民衆生活の変化である。前年度までの研究は2018年11月20-23日にハバナ市で実施されたキューバ人類学会総会で口頭発表した。
2019年度はこれまでの研究成果の発表の準備に多くの時間を費やすとともに、発表前の補完的な調査と次の研究へと発展させるための準備を行った。5月22-24日にやはりハバナ市で実施された、キューバ人類学研究所主催アフロキューバ宗教研究コロキアムに参加し、本研究成果の一部として "El relato de vida de un Omo Añá: Un paso para la historia social de practicantes de la religión Yoruba."を口頭発表した(私費による出張)。
2019年3月の調査(私費)で実施したインタビューは約15時間にのぼる。そのなかで重要性の高いインタビューを８時間分選択し、転写作業を日本に住むキューバ人大学院生に依頼した(謝金)。夏はこれまでの調査資料をもとに日本語論文「マフェレフン、フィデル！―あるサンテリーア儀礼太鼓奏者が生きたキューバ革命」を執筆(未刊行)。現在スペイン語で公刊する準備を進めている。
2020年3月3-21日に再度キューバで調査を実施し(国外旅費)、先の論文を調査対象者に事前チェックしてもらい、意見交換。さらにキューバ文学言語学研究所にある、アフロキューバ文化研究の創始者である民俗学者フェルナンド・オルティスのアーカイヴで補完的な文献資料の調査を実施した。また、キューバ人類学研究所の研究者たちと意見交換し、今後さらに発展した研究をするための調査計画等について話し合った。
This study is a continuation of a study of the same title applied for in 2017. Since 2017, I have been in Cuba for about three weeks each March, interviewing ritual drummers of Santería, an Afocuban religion in Cuba. The main interest of the research is the life history of the people who lived in a marginal barrio before the Cuban Revolution and to analyze the changes in their life brought about by the cultural and religious policies of the Revolutionary Government. I presented a paper based on the previous year's research at the XIV Conferencia Internacional de Antropología organized by Instituto Cubano de Antropología in Havana, Nov. 20-23, 2018.

In 2019, I spent a lot of time preparing for the presentation of the results of my research, as well as doing complementary investigations. I participated in the X Coloquio Internacional sobre Investigaciones de las Religiones Afrocubanas organized by the Instituto Cubano de Antropología, which took place in Havana on May 22-24, where I presented a paper "El relato de vida de un Omo Añá: Un paso para la historia social de practicantes de la religión Yoruba." as part of the results of this research.

Approximately 15 hours of interviews were conducted during the March 2019 research. I selected eight hours of interviews that were of great importance and asked a Cuban graduate student living in Japan to transcribe them. This summer, based on previous research materials, I finished a paper "Maferefún, Fidel! - The Cuban Revolution as Lived by a Santería Ritual Drum Player" in Japanese. It is currently being prepared for publication in Spanish.

I conducted the research again in Cuba on March 3-21, 2020 . During this research trip I asked the interviewees to pre-check my paper and exchanged opinions with them. I also visited the Instituto Cubano de Literatura y Lingüística and conducted the archival research of the fieldnotes of the folklorist Fernando Ortiz, the pioneer of Afro-Cuban studies. I also exchanged the opinions with the related researchers at the Instituto Cubano de Antropología and discussed plans for further research in the future.
