大学生のコミュニケーション不安について、（１）状態不安・特性不安との関連がみられるか、（２）その関連の仕方に、日本人大学生、帰国生、米国人大学生の３者間において相違があるかを調査するため、日米の大学でデータ収集を実施した。年度前半において米国の研究機関との連絡、日米の大学で研究参加者を募るなどの準備を行い、年度後半でデータを収集した。８月に米国カリフォルニア州立大学ロサンジェルス校にて、１０月～２月に慶応大学日吉キャンパスでそれぞれデータ収集を行った。各研究参加者に同性の知り合い・未知の相手と各ペアで会話してもらうという統一された条件下で、会話の録画、アンケート、インタビューに回答してもらった。その結果、日本人計５１名、米国人計４０名の参加者のデータ、日本人１０１ケース、米国人７７ケース、計１７８ケースを収集した。データ収集において、カリフォルニア州立大学心理学部では学生が研究に参加することで単位の一部の点数が加点されるシステム（subject pool system)があるため、学生は授業の単位の一部の点数と引き換えに研究に参加してくれた。しかし、慶応大学ではそうシステムがないため、学生には謝金（９０分の参加で￥1,500）を支払い研究に参加してもらった。それらのデータを分析するために、定量データについては統計分析用にデータソフトへの入力を行い、インタビューなどの定性データについてもデータソフトへの入力を現在、実施している。それらが全て終了した時点で、分析プロセスに入る予定である。
The study aims at examining (1) the relation between communication apprehension and state-anxiety/trait-anxiety, (2) the difference in the relation of the communication apprehension between Japanese college students, returnee students and American students. In the former half of the academic year 2018, the researcher contacted a co-researcher in the Department of Psychology, California State University, Los Angeles and solicited American participants and also Japanese participants at Keio University. In August, 2018, dyadic data from 40 American college students was collected at California State University, Los Angeles in the U.S. From October 2018 through February 2019, dyadic data from 51 Japanese college students was collected. As a result, a total of 91 participants (77 American data and 101 Japanese data), in total 178 dyadic data was collected under the unified conditions; conversation in a pair with a same-sex friend and with a same-sex stranger. In the department of psychology, at California State University Los Angeles, there is a subject pool system and no participation fee was necessary to pay the participants. However, there is no such system at Keio University, so ¥1,500 for 90 minutes was paid as a fee to each partcipant. For data analysis, all the quantitative data was input in SPSS, a statistical data analysis software package. All the qualitative data from the interviews is in the input process stage at present. All the data will be analyzed after the data input process.
