日本近代文学において、女性をめぐる政治状況と虚構が、どのようにかかわってきたのかというのがテーマである。主に戦前期について考察した。明治期の、女性の権利や女性参政権を扱った小説では、近未来という設定がなされることが多い。当時は、現実にはあり得ないことだと認識されていたからだが、その多くにおいてプロットが崩壊してしまう理由を、同時代の言説と関係づけながら考察し、フランスの国際会議で発表した。
戦後については、政治的な問題意識を、虚構度の高い小説として描いた倉橋由美子を取り上げた。「暗い旅」という作品について、盗作か否かについて、男性批評家との間で起こった論争をとりあげて、言説の権力構造を分析した。この分析は、単著の一部に組み込んだ。また、『文藝首都』という雑誌の研究を通じて、女性作家をめぐる状況についても研究したが、SFなどの虚構度が高い作品については、扱うことができなかった。来年度の課題としたい。
I studied how the political situation and fiction about women has been involved in modern Japanese literature. I mainly considered the prewar period. In the novels dealing with women's rights and women's suffrage in the Meiji Period, there are many cases where settings are made in the near future. At that time, it was recognized as being impossible in reality. I researched the reason why the plot collapsed in many of them, relating it with the discourses in the same era, and presented it at the international conference in France.
For the postwar period, I took up Yumiko Kurahashi who wrote political problem consciousness as a novel with a high degree of fictionality. About the work "Kurai Tabi", I analyzed the power structure of the discourse, taking up the controversy with male critics about whether it was plagiarized or not. This analysis was incorporated as part of my book.
I also studied the situation surrounding female writers through research on the magazine "Bungei Shuto", but I could not deal with works with a high fictionality such as science fiction. I would like to set it as an issue for the next fiscal year.
