Abstract |
スマートフォンやATMなどでタッチパネルが急速に普及している。タッチパネルは表示内容の自由度が高く機器の高機能化に貢献するものの、ユーザへの触感フィードバックがなく、誤操作が問題となっている。このため、本研究では電圧の印加によって可逆的に固液相変化を生じる粒子分散系ER流体を用いて平面上に凹凸感を呈示する装置を開発した。本装置は平面上に配置した電極対の上にER流体を満たし、上部を絶縁フィルムで覆った構造であり、電圧の印加によって15 mm間隔で3×3のマトリクス状に凹凸を呈示できる。ボタン押下を想定した実験の結果、凹凸の呈示によって押下操作の正確度および精度が向上することを示した。
A touch panel is now widely used in smart phones etc. Although it enables the devices to have high functionalities due to the flexibility of user interface design, it lucks tactile feedback to the users which causes wrong operations. Hence, this study developed a tactile bump display, suitable for integration with touch panels, using colloidal ER fluid. The ER fluid is a kind of functional fluid which changes rheological characteristics, even from liquid to solid, by applying DC voltage. The developed tactile display is mainly composed of an electrode board, ER fluid and an insulative film. The electrode board has 3x3 electrode pair matrix with 15 mm intervals. By applying DC voltage to an electrode pair, the ER fluid may become solid state at around the corresponding electrode pair. Then, a user can feel a physical bump when touching the corresponding area via the film. As a result of experiment, the accuracy of button pushing operation is greatly improved with the bump display.
