本報告の課題は，近代日本の綿織物産地の成長過程を，地方紡績の役割に着目しながら解明することである。泉南産地は，地方紡績の設立と連動して，白木綿産地として工業化を進めて，急速な成長を遂げていった。加えて，樽井紡績株式会社は，地域社会との利害の対立や資金調達の問題を有しながらも，地方資産家・城野伊三郎の活躍を経て設立された。産地の工業化は，樽井村の紋羽業の再生を促し，地方資産家の城野伊三郎家の家業経営の転換も促した。つまり，産地綿織物業の工業化は，地域や共同体，そして地方資産家の家業経営の構造変化を伴いつつ進んでいったのである。
This study analyzes regional indusrialization while focusing on the local community's reaction and the role of the wealthy local individuals. Sennan area, which was the main cotton textile producing area, rapidly industrialized and developed with the establish of the local cotton spinning company. Besides, Isaburo Jono contributed to establish Tarui-Boseki Co.Ltd, although there was a conflict of interest in the local community in addition to the problem of financing. Consequently, regional industrialization improved the Mompa industry in Tarui village and changed the management of Isaburo Jono. Therefore, the cotton textile industries progressed with the structural change of the region, community, and management of the wealthy local individuals.
