Abstract 
骨のミネラリゼーション(石灰化)は, カルシウムと無機リン酸からなるヒドロキシアパタイト結晶が, コラーゲン線維に付着することで進行する。ミネラリゼーション異常症では, 骨の力学的強度が低下する。チロシンキナーゼ型受容体EphAの遺伝子を欠損するマウスで起こるミネラリゼーション異常は, 「基質小胞」の中でヒドロキシアパタイトの結晶が成長して, 膜を突き破ってできる「石灰化球」の異常であることが示唆された。
Bone matrix mineralization (calcification) proceeds through organized deposition of calcium hydroxyapatite crystals on collagen fibers. Both hyper- and hypomineralzation reduce bone mechanical properties. Mice lacking tyrosine kinase receptor EphA showed hypermineralization likely due to altered growth of mineralizing nodules.
