We have conducted a study on the fog occurrence at the base of Mt. Yatsugatake by using data that had been accumulated through an IoT Stevenson screen. We have revealed that 1) the local fog occurrence at Mt. Yatsugatake is greatly influenced by seasons and time of the day, 2) the surrounding atmosphere and pressure patterns, 3) and most of the fog can be classified into a radiation fog, frontal fog, and upslope fog. It is also proved in this study that the local atmospheric phenomena can be analyzed remotely. Therefore, this type of studies will make a significant contribution to the recent tendency of growth in the remote learning.
