本稿では環境を一つのストック変数として捉え, 重複世代モデルの枠組みにおいて, 競争的な市場取引の結果として社会的に望ましい資本蓄積および環境の水準の組が実現可能であるかを分析する。その結果, 競争的な市場取引の結果として社会的に望ましい資本蓄積および環境の水準の組を実現することは不可能であることが示される。特に, 経済が動学的に非効率的であるとき, 過剰な環境整備が行われる可能性が示される。本稿では更に, 過剰な環境整備を回避する為の手段について考察する。
This study considers the environment as a stock variable, analyzing it within the framework of an overlapping generations model, socially desirable capital accumulation as a result of competitive market transactions and an environmental standard framework. 
As a result, it is shown that the realization of socially desirable capital accumulation as a result of competitive market transactions and an environmental standard framework is not possible. 
In particular, it is shown that when the economy is dynamically inefficient, excessive environmental maintenance may occur. 
Moreover, this study additionally considers measures for avoiding excessive environmental maintenance.
