本稿は中国・義烏の事例を安物雑貨供給システムとして把握し, その特質と発展のダイナミズムを分析した。これまで雑貨産業と卸売市場は過渡的な優位性を発揮すると考えられてきた。しかし義烏を中心とした雑貨産業の展開には, 国内外の大量かつ多様な安物雑貨需要への対応力の向上が含まれていた。安価雑貨の製造販売であっても, 競争と新陳代謝のもとで流行に対応した迅速かつ柔軟な供給能力の継続的向上という形での産業発展が示唆される。
This study tackles the case of China's Yiwu System as a supply system for cheap miscellaneous goods and analyzes the dynamism of its nature and development. Until now, the miscellaneous goods industry and its wholesale market have been considered to show transient advantages. However, in the development of the miscellaneous goods industry with a focus on the Yiwu System, it included an improvement in the capability to respond to large volumes and diverse demands both domestic and foreign for cheap miscellaneous goods. It suggests that even though it is manufacturing and selling cheap goods, the Yiwu System is an industrial development in the form of continuous improvement of rapid and flexible supply capacity, under competition and vigorous entry.
