| Abstract |
Audience activity has been a central concept of communication study, let alone uses and gratifications approach. But, the meaning of the concept is far from clear and remains ambiguous. This paper reviews the problems with the concept and tries to clarify the meaning of audience activity. The provisional conclusionis, to have a clear meaning of audience activity it should be considered in relation to audience motivation.
