Abstract |
My points of view is based on how Africans manipulate and break through the rigid Japanese system by using the sense of tactics' and reconstruct their own way of life taking their position not as an object but as a subject focused on the West Africans who have migrated or recently came to Japan and now are working in Roppongi. Under the sever circumstances in Japan, most of African workers engaged in working at the factory at the beginning. Recently some Africans are shifting to security, bar and club jobin Roppongi due to experiencing the babbleera of the Japanese economy.
I conducted the field work research intensively in Roppongi to clarify their creativity in terms of soft resistance and passing in the way of manipulation of Japanese culture and power'. I approached the classification of the new comer and old comer and revealed how these types categorized workers have been through the different stages. Also, I introduced two types of their information network categorized as a street type and anorganized association type and paid attentionto theirself - help relationship among the Africans referring their traditional heritage. From my own perspective, the image of Africans in Roppongi are camouflaged to reflect that of Americans and then l found out that most Africans claim that they are Americans to protect their interest against the public and police that harass them.
