船荷証券の電子化が国際私法上の準拠法決定の議論に与える影響について検討を行った。具体的には、従来の紙の船荷証券をめぐる国際私法上の準拠法決定に関する、法の適用に関する通則法第13 条関連の物権準拠法に関する議論の整理や船荷証券の電子化システムであるボレロ（BOLERO）やテディ（TEDI）をめぐる日本の国際私法上の議論についての検討、さらには、国連国際商取引法委員会（UNCITRAL）の電子商取引モデル法（MLETR）における外国で発行された電子船荷証券の取扱いや電子船荷証券を認めている諸外国（例えば、シンガポールや韓国など）での電子船荷証券をめぐる国際私法上の議論やこの問題について検討しているイギリスのLaw Commission 案等についても調査・研究し、電子船荷証券と国際私法との関係について、さらに踏み込んだ検討、すなわち、従来、紙の船荷証券について用いられてきた、法の適用に関する通則法13 条の目的物の所在地法主義（＝証券所在法主義）が電子船荷証券についても妥当するのかという観点からの検討を行った。研究業績として、北澤安紀「別添３　船荷証券の電子化と国際私法」商事法務編『商事法の電子化に関する研究会報告書—船荷証券の電子化について—』別冊NBL179号（商事法務・2022年5月14日）96頁〜116頁を公表したほか、2022年度第72回日本海法学会シンポジウム「船荷証券の電子化」において、「電子船荷証券に関する国際私法上の問題」（2022年10月15日開催）と題する研究発表を行った。
I examined the impact of the introduction of electronic bills of lading into Japanese law on the determination of the applicable law under Japanese private international law. Specifically, I analyzed the discussion on the law applicable to bills of lading under Japanese private international law. I also examined the Japanese private international law disputes concerning BOLERO and TEDI, electronic systems for bills of lading. In addition, while referring to the laws of other countries, I examined whether the principle of the law of the location of the bill of lading, which has been used for the determination of the applicable law to bills of lading under Japanese private international law, is also applicable to electronic bills of lading.
