今年度は、主に奈良時代から平安時代初期までの仏教施設と仏教儀礼について考察した。第一に、古代日本における盂蘭盆会の受容過程に注目し、七世紀代に中国からの影響で王権・中央豪族に受容されたと考えられる盂蘭盆会が、八世紀には中央の官人層に浸透し、九世紀前半には地方豪族層にまで広がっていたことを指摘した。また地方寺院における盂蘭盆会は、同時代の地方寺院で受容されていた悔過儀礼などと同様の機能をもち、地域社会の人々の追善供養を行う役割を果たしていた可能性を指摘した。第二に、平安時代中期の史料を収集し、主に平安京周辺に建立された寺院や堂の史料の読み込みを行った。
This year, I mainly considered Buddhist facilities and Buddhist rituals from the Nara period to the early Heian period. First, I examined the process of acceptance of the Bon Festival in ancient Japan, and the Bon Festival, which has been accepted by the royal authority and the central gentry due to the influence of China in the 7th century , was accepted by the central government officials in the 8th century. I pointed out that it was accepted by the local tribes in the first half of the 9th century. I also pointed out that the Buddhist temples at local temples had the same function as the repentance rituals accepted at local temples of the same period, and may have played a role in offering memorial services to the people of the local community. Second, I collected historical materials from the middle of the Heian period and read the historical materials of temples and temples built mainly around Heiankyo.
