Abstract 
本研究の目的は, 英国における福祉国家の再編への公共図書館政策の対応を解明することである。ポール・ピアソンの「福祉国家再編の3次元」を用いて, 公共図書館政策の中長期的変化を分析した結果, 採用された再編の方向性は, 「再調整」, 特に公共サービスの提供のあり方を改革する「合理化」が中心であることが明らかになった。また本研究は, 中央政府の監督の手段である「審問」の実施, 及び, 利益集団として政策過程に登場しつつある市民団体が, 2010年以降の公共図書館政策において注目すべき事項であると指摘し, 「審問」の有効性や政策アクターとしての市民団体の特徴について分析した。
