| Abstract |
日本においても欧米においても企業経営における「信頼」の重要性が増してきている。しかしその基層文化には違いがあり，多文化主義的にアプローチする必要がある。
日本においては歴史的に集団志向の文化の中で「信頼」を重視する傾向が見られ，逆に欧米では個人志向の文化の中で情報化社会の進展がフラットな社会を生み，これが「信頼」の復権を求めている。戦後日本における集団主義は，個人主義の方向ではなく儒教的な意識に基づいた垂直的集団主義から，より共同体的な水平的集団主義の方向へと変化した。これは近代化による宗教的意識の後退や戦後の教育，世代交代によってもたらされたものである。
新しい方向性として注目されるバリュー・マネジメントや信頼の経営といった信頼を基にした共同体的な経営は，組織文化を重視した経営であると考えられる。従来集団的ながら階層的な組織を運営してきた日本企業にとって，これからの共同体的な水平的集団主義の組織におけるトップあるいは管理職の新しいあり方が問われることになろう。
