| Abstract |
日本がシンガポールに続いて第2、第3 のFTA の締結を検討するにあたって浮上してきたのが、農業問題である。WTO は、FTA を設定する際には「妥当な期間内」に「実質上のすべての貿易」について域内関税その他を廃止することを義務づけている。本論文では、日本が新たなFTA を締結していくためには最低限どの程度、農業保護を撤廃する必要があるのかについて、他の地域協定の内容や先進各国の農業保護の現状にも触れながら、国際貿易論の立場から検討を加える。
Agricultural protection was raised as an issue for Japan when considering the signing of its second and third free trade agreements (FTA) following Singapore.
The World Trade Organization (WTO) requires that duties and other restrictive regulations of commerce within a free trade area be eliminated within an "appropriate timeframe" and for "substantially all the trade" when establishing an FTA.
This study investigates the minimum level of agricultural protection that should be abolished for Japan to enter into a new FTA, considering the details of other regional agreements and the current state of agricultural protection in developed countries while also examining the situation from a theoretical international trade perspective.
