慶應義塾図書館には, さまざまな絵入り本が所蔵されている。本来は総合的な研究を志すべきであるが, 一年間で行おうとすると, ごく一部の研究しか出来ない。そこで, 本年度は, 慶應義塾図書館が所蔵する奈良絵本・絵巻を中心に関連資料を調査・研究した。慶應義塾図書館の奈良絵本・絵巻資料については, 日本においてトップクラスの所蔵を誇っている。しかしながら, 大学図書館としては, 容易に閲覧研究ができない天理図書館所蔵も, 奈良絵本・絵巻のきわめて優れた作品が数多く保管されている。この慶應義塾図書館と天理図書館の所蔵品はよく似た面があり, 両者の所蔵品を比較することによって, 研究は格段に進むことは明らかであった。さいわい, 私自身が現在刊行中の新しい天理善本叢書の奈良絵本8冊の解題を執筆することになり, ようやく, 天理図書館所蔵の奈良絵本・絵巻の調査が可能となった。そこで, 本年は, 天理図書館に赴き, 奈良絵本・絵巻の調査を数回に分けて実施することになった。まだ初めて見る作品ばかりで, 書誌調査等の基本的な研究しか出来ていないが, 少し調査しただけでも, 絵入り本研究にきわめて重要なことも分かってきた。本研究は, 一年で終わるものではなく, 次年度以降も順次続けていきたいと考えている。

So, it went to Tenri library this year, and the investigation of Nara picture book, picture scroll was divided into several times, and decided to be carried out. Though only fundamental research such as bibliography investigation could be done only with the work which saw it still for the first time, it only investigated a little, and found that it was very important for this research with the picture, too. This research doesn't end in one year, but it thinks to want to continue it after the next year as well one after another.
