旧草月会館ホール(赤坂)を拠点に「前衛」の実験場・発信基地となった草月アートセンター(c.1958～71年)の計305催事について、残された資料群の非選択的な調査・研究を実施した。研究プロセスそのものが「アーカイヴ」の似姿をとる本研究の成果として、催事毎の単位で編成された物理的資料体と総目録(計4582アイテム)、催事毎に集積された関連文献情報(計2147レコード)、「前衛」を網羅的に扱うデータベースの論理的構造(スキーマ)の設計案などが挙げられる。またニューヨーク近代美術館との連携により、本研究において作成された各種レコード、催事印刷物(エフェメラ類)のデジタル画像のウェブ公開が実現された。
This research project has been proceeded as a non-selective investigation into a great heap of historical materials associated with approximately 300 events held at Sogetsu Art Center, Tokyo (c.1958-1971), the outstanding organization which has once played an experiment station and a radical transmission for its contemporary movements, the aspects of the 60's avant-garde in Japan. The achievement of the research process which can be analogized as the "archival practices" is as follows: a whole list of the physical material corpus (4,852 items, now in Keio University Art Center), an event-based bibliographical data (2,147 records) and the basic design of a logical structure (metadata schema) for the possible database which documents individual subjects in each event. Also the whole view of event-based printed matter (748 printed ephemera) issued from/around Sogetsu has become digitally accessible in collaboration with The Museum of Modern Art, New York.
