| Abstract |
限界革命はクーンの意味での科学革命ではなく，「限界」革命でもない。限界分析は効用と希少性の理論において実質的に利用されており，ジェヴォンズ，メンガー，およびワルラスの貢献は，限界分析にもとづくかれらの独創的な理論によって特徴づけられる。むしろ，非対称情報がもたらす競争市場理論のアノマリーを乗り越えたメカニズム・デザインや契約理論にもとづく組織の経済学の成立プロセスこそ経済学史における科学革命であるといえる。
The marginal revolution is not a scientific revolution in Kuhn's sense, nor is it a "marginal" revolution. Marginal analysis has been used substantially in the theory of utility and scarcity, and the contributions of Jevons, Menger, and Walras are characterized by their original theories based on marginal analysis. Rather, it can be said that the establishment process of organizational economics based on mechanism design and contract theory that overcome the anomaly of competitive market theory caused by asymmetric information is a scientific revolution in the history of economics.
