| Abstract |
高橋誠一郎はわが国において, 重商主義を本格的に研究した最初の人物である。彼の『重商主義経済学説研究』（1932年）はこの分野における世界的に最高水準の書物である。重商主義を包括的・体系的に, かつ詳細に分析した研究文献は, わが国において今日でも本書以外に見当たらない。その重商主義解釈は今日では受け入れがたい。しかし, 本書に見られる研究方法や手法は今日でも依然として, わが国におけるあらゆる分野の学史研究を根底で支えている。
Seiichiro Takahashi was the first person in Japan to research Mercantilism in earnest.
His A Study in Mercantilist Economic Theory (1932) is, from an international viewpoint, a work of the highest standard in the field.
This research literature is a comprehensive, systematic, and detailed analysis of mercantilism that even today remains peerless in our country.
Nonetheless, his interpretation of mercantilism is hardly acceptable today.
However, the method and approach seen in his study, even today, are still of great use for all the areas of the history of economic thought in Japan.
