The author's recent research interests consist in rethinking the concepts of culture, in its dynamic shift in response to complex reformation of relationality across plural cultural facets, as unfolded on the interfaces of encounters of people with perceived different cultural backgrounds, with particular relevance to cultural, medical anthropology and cultural psychiatry, which are part of core areas in human sciences. In this article, the author would like to take up an issue, as placed one part among the above overall research theme, regarding the scope and its critical commentary discussion of newly appearing research orientation in cultural/medical anthropology and cultural psychiatry towards integrated framework which can allegedly deal with interactional whole of biological, neuroscientific, and socio-cultural factors as to human mind/behavior bounded in sociocultural situations.
General theoretical discussions, focusing primarily on neuroscientific orientation, will be presented along with the examination of exemplary sample studies. Additionally, with relevance to the above discussions, the author also comments on one other example as to a neurobiological study on operatic performance which mainly focuses on its singing formant as a primary mover for intensified emotional arousal on the side of the audience.
