It was late 80s when Japan became the world's longest longevity country that it became a social topic of the transition from 'the 50-year life' to 'the 80-year life' in Japan. The average lifetime for Japanese has even got longer, and we are now facing the moment of the transition to 'the 100-year life'. In another words, it can be said that 'Heisei' era started with the arrival of 'the 80-year life' and is about to end with the transition to 'the 100-year life'. In 'the post-Heisei' era, it will have even bigger importance of 'educational investment' and 'lifelong learning' as social topic, and it would gain more attention on the aspect of 'learners' of individuals. This article is aiming to discuss the outlook for the lifestyle in 'post-Heisei' era, which is the beginning of 'the 100-year life', by looking back our last three decades along with the keywords of 'lifelong learning' and 'maturity and immaturity'
