Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to examine the nature of "fairness" of "Cultural Literacy in the Early Grades" as considered by E. D. Hirsch, Jr. This report will make a clear review of "Cultural Literacy in the Early Grades", and have a perspective on the "fairness" of "Cultural Literacy in the Early Grades". Taking into account the "fairness" of "Cultural Literacy in the Early Grades", it is thought that the object of Cultural Literacy is not only the socio-economically advantaged students, but also the disadvantaged students. In addition, in order to illustrate the feasibility of "Cultural Literacy in the Early Grades", it should be needed to make a general view of the school that uses Core Knowledge Sequence in the Early Grades.
From the examination, I will clarify the following results: (1) Making a clear review of "Cultural Literacy in the Early Grades" according to the work of Hirsch, (2) Indicating the "fairness" of "Cultural Literacy in the Early Grades", (3) Having a perspective on the school that use Core Knowledge Sequence, and make this sample to illuminate the "fairness" of "Cultural Literacy in the Early Grades".
