After the economical crisis in the end of the 20th century, Indonesia has experienced a stable growth, thus joining BRICs as one of the world's most attractive markets. Numbers of industrial estates by the Japanese ownership were established in suburban area near the capital in the 1990s, becoming the backbone of the production and the economical dynamics of the nation. In one of the cases, industrial estate is located inside agricultural villages, which has led to multiple changes and issues surrounding the villages. By the method of participate observation, this thesis provides the inside perspective of one of its villages. Ordinary villagers find it di$cult to compete with the more educated laborers from outside for factory jobs in the industrial estate. One of the bright attempts for the good of the relationship between the industrial estate and the village is the CSR activitiy, providing scholarships, daily needs, farming instructions and others, although with some mixed results. The critical side of the relationship is concerning scrap business among the factories in the industrial estate and the ethnic group Madura, the scrap businesspeople. Competitions among the Madura to earn the rights to deal with the factories, allow tens of villagers to be involved in the negotiation who can provide competitive edge. Their interests are not obtained through legal nor peaceful procedure, which leads to a negative social structure that must be monitored.
