Abstract
The purpose of this paper was to present the methods to solve the problems about the capacity limitation of working memory in the situations of learning and instruction. After the definition, the models, and the limitation of working memory were proposed, the methods to cope with the working memory limitation were proposed. Firstly the way to reduce working memory load was introduced. Secondly the use of long-term memory/knowledge for quickly and efficiently information processing was introduced. Thirdly the importance of exploring the advantage of small working memory was stated. Fourthly the interaction of learning / instruction strategy and working memory capacity was investigated. Finally the residual issues about the capacity limitation of working memory were discussed.
