| Abstract |
Researchers have paid a good deal of attention to news source as an important factor which has large impact on news production process. This paper reviews those studies on news source by categorizing them into two research topic areas, sourcejournalist interaction studies and source bias studies. The "source-journalist interaction studies" have found that journalists would be affected by the interaction with news sources. It has been repeatedly reported by "source bias studies" that political and economic elites dominate news sources of almost every type of news. To focus more on news source itself as well as journalist will be needed for the future studies to understand the news production process more completely.
