Since the publication of On the Origin of Species in 1859, so many ambitious biologists and philosophers have joined in the discussions about Darwin's theory of natural selection, using various knowledge and arguments. These results have contributed to make many new biological theories and research fields. But Synthetic Theory of Evolution, which is the standard evolutionary theory following Darwin's original theory, still can not have its own position in contemporary biology, partly because of its obscure structure and poor content. To assure evolutionary theory its own proper position in biology, that is, I think, foundational position, I'd like to characterize again evolutionary theory by showing the dual aspects of singularity and generality of biological thoughts and knowledge. And then I sketch briefly my ideas of reconstruction based on the concepts such as information, program, game's rules, and so on.
