There must be the dual theory loadennes in the former folkloristic and sociological monographs concerning the "Shinshu Village", the village in which parishioners of the Jodo-Shin Sect are dominant. Firstly, all of the former methodologies of the areal religion study seem to be insufficient for the religious form of universalism, whose typical example in Japan is usually said to be the Jodo-shin Sect. Secondly, the sectionalism through the study of this sect and the ignorance of the methodological limits of the folklore bring the acculturation study of this sect and folk beliefs into vogue. By means of the negative evaluation of these tides and the author's research experience, this paper proposes the following three frames of reference concerning the religious research of the "Shinshu Village". (1) various gathering principles of each religious group(Kou). (2) relation between the performance of "Kou" and the profane power of the village. (3) religious dualism of the "pilgrimaging Kou".
