| Abstract |
The images of the thunder-god and wind-god are seen as the attendants of the thousand-armed kannon in the medieval Buddhistic paintings in Japanese art. The most original goes way back to the Han dynasty in China. Thousand-armed kannon and its 28 attendants, illustrated here, in the collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, dates from 13th century. In this article, I tried to inquire into the characteristic of the thunder-god and the wind-god represented in this painting.
