Abstract |
The most characteristic Sufi Order in Anatolia was the Mevlevi Dervish Order founded by the relatives and adherents of famous Persian mystical poet Djelaleddin Rumi (d. at Konya 1273). This order gave the influence considerably upon both Anadolu-Seljuk and Ottoman dynasties in the cultural and pelitical spheres. This brief survey concerns mainly the Mevlevi Dervish as. an artistic craftman. Apart from its belief, ritual and custom, the members of this order showed outstanding ability in wide extent of an artistic field. Since the secularization of Turkish Republic, this mystical order was abolished However, its industrial art objects are remaining in Asia Minor and preserving the past glory of Turkish Muslim.
