This paper analyzes the inside perspective of the refugees involved in the massive flood in Jakarta, Indonesia. Its aims are (1) to document live observations in the first months since the occurrence of the flood, (2) to analyze the refugees behavior, interactions and choices during the period. One of the key findings is the micro social structure generated by their own initiative in the place of refuge, and that the human relationship within it impacted the living of the refugees after the refuge period. The paper also focuses on the difference between the refugees behavior on whether to move from or stay in their frequently flooded living area. Some of the issues, such as the motives for staying in their current living area with the risk of another massive flood, will be analyzed by economic sociological methods.
