This practical report presents the results of the AY-2021 Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology-commissioned project, "Project for developing and securing professional human resources in collaboration with teacher training institutions (Foreign Language Education Project to Foster the Competencies Required in a Globalized Society)" which was undertaken with the Keio Research Center for Foreign Language Education. In this project, faculty members from Keio University, in collaboration with high-school teachers in Tokyo and Kanagawa Prefecture, examined how to form and implement Performance-Based-Assessment lesson plans with regard to foreign language education other than English.
This research focuses on the new AY-2022 Course of Study for high schools, and examines how Performance-Based-Assessment was employed in foreign language education in these high schools, especially from the viewpoint of the three Competencies and the Criterion Referenced Evaluation. This year's research included development of lesson plans and teaching practices in Korean, Spanish, Chinese, German, and French. Two workshops were held for the purpose of teacher training based on the research results that have been obtained so far.
