本研究は、日本におけるキリシタン関係書籍の調査を行ない、その一方で、これまでに収集した史料を整理することを主眼とするものである。ただし、日本におけるキリシタン関係書籍については、新型コロナウィルス禍によって、国内であっても移動の制限があって予定してした調査が十分にはできなかった。このため、これまでに収集してきたキリシタン関係文書の電子データや書籍の整理が中心となった。16世紀から17世紀にかけてのイエズス会の史料のうち、最も重要なものはローマ・イエズス会文書館の所蔵文書である。同文書館の所蔵文書のうち、日本・中国文書群のデータを整理していった。また、ポルトガル共和国のアジュダ図書館所蔵の文書データに関しても整理作業を行なったが、すでにかなりの部分が目録化されているので、確認作業が中心であった。こうした作業を基にして、現在出版を準備している史料論の原稿を推敲していった。
上記の作業に加えて、今後の研究のために、大航海時代における権原論についての情報を整理していった。この問題については、16世紀のスペインのサラマンカ学派のフランシスコ・デ・ビトリア、17世紀のオランダのフーゴ・グロティウス、ポルトガルのセラフィン・デ・フレイタスの3名の人物の議論をおもに検討している。スペインのインディアス支配の権原論について、ビトリアらサラマンカ学派の神学者達が議論しているが、それではポルトガルのインド洋支配は正当なのか、その権原ははたして何なのか。そうしたことを軸にして、グロティウスはポルトガルのインド洋進出に異を唱えている。ポルトガル出身の神学者フレイタスは、ポルトガル人としてこの問題を論じた非常に珍しい人物である。トマス・アクィナスの議論が継承されているので、こうした神学書について検討することが必要となる。彼らの議論を検討しながら、収集してきた書籍やそのデータを整理していった。
This study focuses on investigating Christian books in Japan, while organizing the collected historical materials. However, with regard to books related to Christianity in Japan, due to the COVID-19 disease, there were restrictions on movement even in Japan, and I could not complete the planned survey sufficiently. For this reason, I was forced to focus on organizing the electronic data and books of Christian documents that I had collected until now. The most important the Jesuit historical materials from the 16th to 17th centuries are the documents held by the Archivum Romanum Societatis Iesu, Jesuit Archives in Rome. Among the documents held by the archive, the data of documents related to Japan and China were organized. I also organized the document data in the Biblioteca da Ajuda, Ajuda Library in Portugal, but since a considerable part of it has already been cataloged, the main task was to confirm it. Based on these works, I elaborated the manuscripts of the historical materials for the prepared publication.
In addition to the above work, I have organized information on the theory of authority in the Age of Discovery for future research. This issue is mainly examined by three scholars, Francisco de Vitoria, O. P. of the School of Salamanca in Spain in the 16th century, Hugo Grotius, lawyer in the Netherlands in the 17th century, and Serafim de Freitas, theologian in Portugal. Vitoria and other Salamanca theologians are discussing the title of Spain's West Indian Ocean rule, but is Portugal's rule of the Indian Ocean justified? What is its title? With that in mind, Grotius disagrees with Portugal's expansion into the Indian Ocean. Freitas is a very rare person who discussed this issue as a Portuguese. Since Thomas Aquinas's argument is inherited, it is necessary to consider these theological books. While considering their discussions, I organized the books and their data that I had collected.
