本研究では、キリシタン史料の性質について考察を行なった。イエズス会日本関係史料の性質について、その成立から構成に至るまでを考察の対象とした。これまで、イエズス会関係史料を電子データなどで徐々に収集してきたが、バルセロナのイエズス会カタルニア歴史文書館において史料調査を行なうことができた。同文書館は、イエズス会の大量の布教関係史料群が電子データで所蔵されており、一般の研究者にも公開している。同文書館長F・カサノバ神父のご厚意によって調査が可能となったものである。
現在、イエズス会日本年報の成立について、これまで収集してきた史料から分析を進めている。日本年報は、日本各地から長崎に送付された報告を基にして、長崎にいる年報制作者がまとめている。ところが、通常は年報の元になっている報告はすべてが残存しているわけではない。そこで、現存する日本年報の分析から、年報がどのような成立と構成を検討している。それと同時に、そうした日本年報の史料的分析が事実関係の解明にどの程度まで役立つのかを考えているところである。
なお、本研究では、イエズス会の欧文史料をおもな対象として調査を進めてきたが、イエズス会カタルニア歴史文書館にはイエズス会が所蔵する漢籍の電子データを所蔵していることが確認できた。そこで、これらの漢籍を可能な限り調査した。これらの漢籍は、おもに明末から清代中期にかけて中国において作成、印刷された木版本である。かつて同会のアルバート・チャン神父は、イエズス会が所蔵する漢籍をすべてローマ・イエズス会文書館に集め、詳細な目録を出版した。この目録を頼りに漢籍の調査を今後も進めていきたいと思う。大量に作成されたイエズス会の漢籍の成立状況は、欧文史料群に具体的記載が見られることがあるので、欧文史料と漢籍とを照合していくことが今後の課題のひとつである。
In this study, I considered the characteristic of Christian historical materials. I treated the characteristic of the Jesuit materials in Japan about its formation and its composition. So far, I have been collected gradually the Jesuit materials by electronic data etc., and I could consult the Jesuit Catalunya History Archives in Barcelona. In the archive, a large number of Jesuits' mission-related documents are held in electronic data and are open to general researchers. The investigation was made possible by the courtesy of Fr.Casanova. At present, I am analyzing the historical materials collected about the missions of the Japan Society for the Jesuit. The Japanese annual report is compiled by the annual-report-producers at Nagasaki, based on the reports sent from various parts of Japan to Nagasaki. However, not all reports that are usually the basis of annual reports remained. Therefore, from the analysis of the existing annual report of Japan, the annual report is examining what kind of formation and composition. At the same time, I am thinking if such a historical analysis of the Japanese annual report help to elucidate the facts.
In addition, in this research, I have researched mainly on the European materials written by the Jesuits, but it can be confirmed that the Jesuit Catalunya Historical Archive holds electronic data of the Chinese nationalities possessed by the Jesuits. The Therefore, I investigated these Chinese materials as much as possible. These Chinese nationalities are mainly woodcuts produced and printed in China from the end of the Ming Dynasty to the middle of the Qing Dynasty. At the same time, Fr. Albert Chan, who was a member of the Society of Jesus, collected all the Chinese nationalities held by the Jesuits in the Roman Jesuit Archives and published a detailed catalog. I would like to proceed with the study of Chinese materials by relying on this list. Since the state of the establishment of the Chinese material's register of the Jesuits, which has been prepared in large quantities, may be described in detail in the lists of historical texts, it is one of the future tasks to collate the historical texts with the register.
