本研究活動の成果としては、第一に、共同研究賛同企業と共同研究実施体制を構築した点が挙げられる。2018年7月には、共同研究コンソーシアム「xSDGコンソーシアム」を設立、複数の共同研究プロジェクトも立ち上げ、開始させている。さらに、このxSDGコンソーシアムでは、プラスチック汚染分科会、金融プラットフォーム分科会、認証分科会を立ち上げ、本会議と並行して、産官学民の参加による会合を開催した。SDGsの統合的実施や、政策支援のあり方の検討、指標メカニズムの検討、SDGs白書等を議論した。
第二に、SDGs関連指標論議の取り組みとしては、静岡市や豊岡市の取り組みが挙げられる。静岡市では、「健康長寿のまちづくり」構想について取り組み、SDGsを活用して、政策点検を行なった上で、政策的に陥欠してる点や政策指標が対応していない箇所を明らかにした。そして、本構想を強化するための課題の特定や追加的行動についてまとめた。これについては、静岡市への提出とともに報告している。さらに、豊岡市については、「地方自治体政策検証豊岡市におけるジェンダー課題-SDGsに基づく地域課題の抽出–」と題した研究成果報告書の提出を行い、豊岡市ホームページを通じて公開している。新聞メディアにも取り上げられた。企業に対する指標の取り組みについては、今後の展開を検討している。
第三に、市民的理解や企業によるさらなる取り組みの促進のために、多数の講演を行った点が挙げられる。企業、自治体、教育機関、金融機関など多岐に及び、SDGsとは何か、SDGsの取り組みとして求められることは何か、等についての講演を行った。また、国際的な発信も行ない、Earth System Governance Utrecht Conference（オランダ）や、Sustainability Summit（イギリス）等でも研究成果を一部報告した。
As results for the research study, first, the implementation of a framework for collaborative research with supporting companies, can be given. In July 2018, the "xSDG Consortium" was set up, and other multiple collaborative researches are being conducted. Furthermore, the "xSDG Consortium" has set up sectoral groups; Sectoral group on financial assessment platform, Sectoral group on the plastic waste problem, Sectoral group on authentication. And has held government- industry-academia meetings, along with consortium annual reporting meetings and other consortium related outcomes. Discussions were made on SDGs integrated implementation, the role of policy support, index mechanisms, and the SDGs "white book". Some results can already be found in publications.
Second, in aim to establish new indexes to evaluate local governments through the SDGs, the collaborative research with Shizuoka City and Toyooka City can be given. The joint research with Shizuoka City involved policy reviews using the SDGs and realizing policy indicators, focusing on the framework of a "City of Health and Longevity". Points for further investigation to strengthen the framework were realized and summarized. Furthermore, with Toyooka City, an empirical study on public local policies, with a particular attention to the issues on gender equality and gender challenges, were conducted. The joint research was released on the Toyooka City homepage, and appeared in the newspaper. Indexes for company evaluation is being considered for further research.
Third, to achieve public understanding and for the promotion of business involvement, many lectures and speeches were given and presented. Lectures, on what the SDGs are, and what is being expected, were given to a broad range of stakeholders such as businesses, local governments, academic institutions, and financial organizations. This was done at an international level as well, at the Earth System Governance Utrecht Conference (Netherlands) and Sustainability Summit (England).
