Abstract |
Animals and their relation to Gods, Humans and Things in the Ancient Worldに寄稿した。
The results of my research for this financial year are summarized as follows:
1. Through the international joint excavation of the Hamanaka 2 site located in Rebun Island, I acquired new knowledge about the subsistence of the Okhotsk people and gave a short lecture to foreign graduate and undergraduate students on that topic.
2. I contributed a paper on the influence of animal rituals of the Okhotsk people on the formation of the Ainu Bear-sending Ceremony to the following book:
Mattila R, Ito, S. and Flink S. (eds.) Animals and their relation to Gods, Humans and Things in the Ancient World. (Wiesbaden: Springer VS., 2019)
3. I completed preparations for writing a report about the archaeological remains excavated from the Utoro Jinjya-yama Cave in 1995, 1998 and 2008 of the Okhotsuku and Epi-Jomon periods. As a result of the discussion with curators of the Shiretoko Museum, I could also draw up a concrete publishing plan.
