ドイツ・ヴュルツブルク大学訪問教授として２０１８年６月から７月に１か月間同大学研究者および実務家との研究交流の後、ミュンヘン工科大学を２０１８年７月１５日から１０日間滞在し、同大学教授クリストフ・アン教授、ミュンヘンの弁護士らと、日独の特許無効手続および営業秘密の保護について、情報および意見交換を行った。
また、同年７月１９日に、ドイツ知的財産保護協会（GRUR）の主催により、ドイツ特許庁フォーラム（会議場）において、「比較法的視座からの特許無効手続日本における特許無効手続の最新動向—ドイツへの教訓となるか？」と題する講演を行い、ドイツの裁判官、実務家、企業関係者、研究者と意見交換を行った。
同年９月から１０月には、当大学をグローバル事業で訪問したアン教授と、特許無効に関する共著原稿について打ち合わせを行い、また、営業秘密の保護についても意見交換を行った。１１月には、法学研究所の支援を得て、経済産業省知的財産政策室長渡邊佳奈子氏の講演会を主催し、限定提供データの保護について、立法担当者、実務家らと意見交換を行った。
２０１９年１月以降は、アン教授との共著原稿を執筆するとともに、「侵害訴訟の事実審において訂正の再抗弁を主張しなかった特許権者が、上告審において訂正審決の確定を主張することの許否 シートカッター事件」と題する最高裁判例評釈を執筆した。同評釈は、『小野昌延先生追悼論文集続・知的財産法最高裁判例評釈大系』（青林書院、2019年）に掲載され、発行された。
なお、２０１９年度には、君嶋がミュンヘン工科大学訪問教授として１１月に同大学へ招聘されることが決まっており、営業秘密の保護に関して講演を行うとともに、比較法的研究を発展させる予定である。
After my stay at the University of Wurzburg between June and July 2018, I stayed at the University of Technology, Munich (TUM) for 10 days from July 15. I exchanged information and opinions with Prof. Christoph Ann and practitioners in Munich about patent invalidity proceedings and trade secrets protection in Japan and Germany.
On July 19, 2018 the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR) organized my seminar at the German Patent and Trademark Office Forum (DPMAforum). The title of the seminar was "Patent Invalidity Proceedings from a Comparative Perspective: Recent Developments of Patent Invalidity Procedure in Japan – Lessons for Germany?". At the seminar I exchanged opinions with judges, practitioners and researchers.
In September and October, Prof. Ann visited Keio for Keio's Global Project. We discussed our joint research paper on patent invalidity and joint research on trade secrets protection. In November, I organized a seminar on protection of limited provided data by Ms. Kanako Watanabe, Director of Intellectual Property Policy Office, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry sponsored by the Keio Institute of Jurisprudence. Accordingly, I exchanged opinions with lawmaking officers and practitioners.
After January 2019 I worked on the joint research paper on patent invalidity as well as wrote a case review of the Supreme Court Decision Sheet Cutter. The latter was published in Liber Amicorum for Dr. Shoen Ono (Seirin Shoin, 2019).
I would like to remark that the TUM will invit me as a visiting professor in November 2019. Prof. Ann will organize my seminars on trade secrets protection. We will also work on our joint research of laws from a comparative perspective.
